International conference
„Business cooperation possibilities between Montenegro and Russia“ 7. and 10. June 2010. Hotel Monte Casa – Petrovac
In order to continue the good business cooperation with Russian institutions, the Directorate for SME Development in cooperation with the Association of Businessmen Leningrad region organized an international conference “Business cooperation opportunities between Montenegro and Russia" which took place June, 7th, 2010.
The conference was opened by Miss Ivana Zecevic, Adviser for competitiveness and exports in the Directorate for SME Development and Ms. Elena Shoda, president of the Association of Businessmen Leningrad region. The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of agriculture, Montenegro Business Alliance, Federation of Employers, Chamber of Economy, Artisan-entrepreneurial chambers of Montenegro, Association of Hoteliers of Montenegro and representatives of the Montenegrin and Russian companies.»

Info-offices for Energy Efficiency opened
Four newly opened info-offices for Energy Efficiency were officially opened today in Niksic, Cetinje, Berane and Bijelo Polje.
In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed 22. September, 2009, the German organization for technical assistance and cooperation - GTZ ASE, in cooperation with the Directorate for SME Development have started with the project "Enhancing energy efficiency in Montenegro", which initially focused on capacity building - education of staff in regional and local business centers in Montenegro (Niksic, Berane, Cetinje and Bijelo Polje).»

Certificates awarded to trainees of II generation project „A Chance for young managers“
The Employment Agency of Montenegro and the Directorate for SME Development on Tuesday, 18.05.2010. at 17:00 pm in the Multimedia Room KIC "Budo Tomovic" promoted and awarded certificates to trainees of II generation project "A Chance for young managers".
Certificates were presented to trainees by Mr. Miomir Mugosa, Mayor of Podgorica, Mr. Zoran Jelic, Director of the Employment Agency of Montenegro and Mr. Zoran Vukcevic, Director of Directorate for SME Development.»

The seminar „Instruments for planning the export and introduction to new markets“ was held
Directorate for development of small and medium sized enterprises and Ltd „Adizes Montenegro“ Podgorica have jointly initiated the project „Building regional capacity of advisory services and markets for export oriented enterprises“, and with the assistance of GTZ, the German institution for technical cooperation and assistance organized the seminar „Instruments for planning the export and introduction to new markets – Preparation of export plan“, held on 23rd and 24th February 2010, in Podgorica, in the premises of the Directorate for development of small and medium sized enterprises.
The lecturers were certified consultants from Republic of Macedonia, experts in marketing and management in export business, as well as in human resource development. »

Index of business climate for small and medium enterprises
The first report on the Index of business climate for small and medium enterprises was presented on 23rd December 2009, at the premises of the Directorate for development of small and medium sized enterprises. The report is based on the survey for 2009, done by the Centre for Economic Entrepreneurship and Development (CEED) from Podgorica, with the support of GTZ, for the needs of the Directorate for development of small and medium sized enterprises.
This project was presented by Mr. Zoran Vukčević, director of the Directorate for development of small and medium sized enterprises, Mr. Benjamin Klinger, Team leader of the project “Economic Development and Employment Promotion” in GTZ, and Mrs. Ana Šebek, project coordinator “Index of business climate for small and medium enterprises”. »

PRESENTATION OF THE SACE S.p.A. AGENCY
16th December 2009. the presentation of SACE S.p.A. was held, with the topic „Support to Montenegrin enterprises for purchasing new technologies/machines from Italy“, organized by the Directorate for development of small and medium sized enterprises in cooperation with the Export Credit Agency from the Republic of Italy -SACE S.p.A, an the Directorate’s premises.
There were 20 successful Montenegrin enterprises presented, from different sectors: food processing industry, metal, wood industry, mattress production, aluminium production, etc.

II Fair of Students` Entrepreneurship
II Fair of the Project Students` Entrepreneurship was held in Montenegro on 16th December 2009, at the premises of shopping centre Delta City in Podgorica.
182 pupils from 6 secondary schools from Montenegro participated, with their mentors and directors:
- JU Gymnasium – Kotor
- JU Secondary medley schools „Vuksan Đukić“, Mojkovac
- JU Secondary vocational schools – Berane
- JU Secondary medley schools „Bećo Bašić“ – Plav
- JU Secondary vocational schools – Bijelo Polje
- JU Secondary medley schools Mladost – Tivat
There were 40 students` enterprises at the Fair that presented themselves, and sold their products and services, and competed for awards.»

Educational seminar for energy consultants completed
SMEDD and GTZ-ASE have organized three days semminar for energy consultants according to signed MoU from 22.09.2009. The seminar was designed for the existing regional and business centres’ employees. Seminar was held in SMEDDs’premisies in Podgorica in the period from 7 - 9 of December 2009.
Lectures from University of Montenegro, Ministry of Economy – energy efficiency department, NGO Green Home, consultant from Croatia and GTZ-ASE consultant presented EE from different aspects, such as, legislative frame for EE in Montenegro and relevant regulations, EE impact on enviroment, process of building certification, thermal insulation, thermal losses, certification of electrical appliances, use of renewable energies, economical aspects of EE projects, project implementation process, EE credit lines etc.»

HOW TO IMPROVE CREDIT FINANCING FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES
Directorate for development of small and medium enterprises and Ministry of Economy organized Round Table on „How to improve credit financing for small and medium enterprises“ on Friday, 13th November 2009, in hotel Apart „Premier“.
Beside Mr. Zoran Vukčević, director of the Directorate for development of small and medium enterprises, Mr. Branko Vujović, minister of the Ministry of Economy also participated, as well as representatives from Central Bank of Montenegro, Ministry of Finance, Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Federation of employers of Montenegro, Montenegro Business Alliance, and representatives of all commercial banks.»

Trade Information Service officially presented
Directorate for development of small and medium enterprises, in cooperation with German organization for technical cooperation GTZ, as long-time partner for the Project “Economic development and employment promotion”, officially presented the Trade Information Service, with the basic role to provide information on export markets.
The official presentation of the Trade Information Service and services that will be offered attended numerous entrepreneurs and business associations, and it was presented by Mr. Zoran Vukcevic, director of the Directorate for SME development, Mr. Benjamin Klinger, team leader for the project “Economic development and employment promotion”, Ms. Christine Young, project implementation consultant. On line data base, designed for market study creation, was presented by Ms. Ivana Zecevic, adviser in the Directorate for development of small and medium enterprises.»
